One of the greatest tragedies in life is to lose your own sense of self and accept the version of you that is expected by everyone else. When you've suffered a great deal in life, each additional pain is both unbearable and trifling. Nothing sadder than seeing a person settle for so much lower than their potential. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall.
